Are These Sony Headphones Worth the Hype?

Hi guys! I’m so excited to chat about the Sony WH-CH720N Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones. I’ve been rocking these for a couple of months now, and I’ve got some thoughts to spill!

I decided to grab these because I wanted a solid pair of noise-canceling headphones without breaking the bank. At $150, I had high hopes for comfort and killer sound. Spoiler: it’s a mixed bag!

I wear these pretty much all day, every day, for music, podcasts, and calls. Honestly, the sound quality is meh out of the box, but once I tweaked the EQ, it got pretty good. The noise canceling is a pleasant surprise—I’m new to NC headphones, and I’m loving how it blocks out the chaos during commutes.

But the comfort? Ugh, hit or miss. The earpads are thin, barely fit over my ears, and with glasses, they sometimes smash my ears against the frames. It’s not painful, just annoying after a while, especially during long sessions.

Things I loved? The Bluetooth connection is flawless—pairs with my PC instantly every time, no fighting required. And the noise canceling is legit for the price.

Things that could be better? Comfort, hands down—thicker earpads, please! Also, the battery life. It’s decent (probably hits the claimed 35 hours), but I’m used to cheaper headphones lasting longer without charging. Plus, you can’t use them while charging, which is a pain when I’m at 50% and want to keep listening. I’d rather not pay $150 again for these; they feel more like $70 headphones.

Summary: As I said, “A lot to love at a decent price,” and with a 5/5 rating, I still think there’s value here if you snag them on sale.

Final thoughts: If comfort and battery life are dealbreakers, maybe look elsewhere. But if you want reliable noise canceling and easy pairing at a discount, these could be your jam. I’d recommend waiting for a price drop before jumping in!
